Think Productivity for a minute, what comes to mind? I am sure you are picturing an individual or yourself as always being busy. Interestingly, that is the mistake we all make, motion ain’t the same thing as action!
That individual who seems to always be late on deadlines may not necessarily have too much to do, it could just be a matter of efficiency with that particular individual not being productive because if you are really productive, you will most times have it under control, be on top of your game and most likely ahead of schedule
The concept of productivity is actually tied around you achieving much more with fewer resources so please stop equating being productive with being busy.
Key checks to measure your productivity are:
- Map out your goals using the SMART acronym
- Work hard but work smarter
- Avoid procrastination
- Eliminate time wasters
- Focus on outcomes
- Let your passion drive you, identify the why behind that task as there is where you will find the ultimate purpose to DO, and lastly
- You must enjoy what you do

So on a lighter note, I tell off my teammates that running around like headless chickens does not make them productive. Map out your plan, own it, drive it, tweak if need be in the process, and walk it through.
As business leaders, this is how you can truly measure your team’s productivity by identifying that particular individual who achieves more with fewer resources
