As an executive or management trainee just starting off, staying on top of your job may not be not be easy as you think. So the milion dollar question is how can you manage yourself and work with little or no supervision?
This is a question people find very hard to answer. You have 24 hours in a day and each second, minute and hour counts. The truth is you won’t really know how far time is gone till you are stuck in between tasks.
Here are 5 easy ways you can manage yourself moving on.

Create A Personal Mission Statement
In life, we get so caught up that we forget why we are in a place. Sometimes due to circumstances like peer pressure, we get influenced and make the wrong decisions. It is important to manage yourself by looking for the best ways to integrate your values into what you do. Do just talk about your personal mission statement, write it down so as not to forget. Your personal mission statement doesn’t have to be poetic, it just needs to carry along your value, your beliefs and define why you do what you do daily.
Set Micro-Goals
Writing your goals down helps you expand your mission statement because you know you are working on a tangible result. Manage yourself by setting micro-goals. Your micro goal can be as little as setting up an important client meeting or making a phone call to a prospect
Be Accountable
To be accountable, you need to hold yourself responsible when your results are not positive. Ask yourself tough questions. Manage yourself by making yourself accountable for how you spend your time. Schedule a time each week to reflect on your tasks, on your accomplishments and yes your shortfalls. You must be critical of yourself to ensure you remain accountable.

Emphasize Your Strength And Improve Your Weakness
No one is an island of knowledge. People have different talents and can also struggle in other areas. Some people are born writers but have a difficult time with conversation. Others can walk into a room or present to hundreds like a pro, but can’t write a coherent email message. Good managers must help their employees shine, and also develop. To manage yourself, take every opportunity to show off your strengths, and actively seek out ways to improve in weaker areas.
Value Your Time
Time is of the essence. When you divide your salary by the time spent on tasks related to work, your hourly rate is probably a lot less than you think.Learn to invest in your personal time. Create a ‘MIE’ time Think about your free time, however much of it you may have. What is it worth to you? The time you have for yourself will almost always be more valuable than the time at work. Manage yourself by learning to maximize your productivity during the hours you are actually working, and by maximizing your personal time by ignoring your cell phone, and focusing on the things you enjoy.
