4 Most Essential Sleep Habit Of Successful People You Need.

When you are looking to become a more productive person, it becomes a necessity for you to understudy how successful people in your area of specialization or generally in life and know what these people all have in common. You will get to understand that there is a common pattern in what all of them do as their routine and one of these numerous habits they all have in common is that they take sleeping well as a priority. This is not disconnected from the fact that they have a coherent understanding of how vital sleep is to their overall productivity.

So, it’s not just about ditching taking caffeine or trying to go to bed as early as possible, we even got to understand that good sleeping habits is not restricted to nights alone, it can take any time of the day. Here, we will be listing out these common sleep habits of the most productive successful people:

They Have Regular Schedule For Their Sleep:

A larger percentage of highly successful people ensure they sleep on an average of 6 hours every night. Some studies show that successful business people sleep for at least six to eight hours every night which gives us an average of seven hours of sleep every night. You will also be amused that some popular athletes sleep for about 10 hours every night and it could be more with athletes like Lebron James that sleeps for about 11 to 12 hours every night

Unknowingly to most people, having a good and sleep can be the most life-changing thing you could ever do. A Greek-American Author and the co-founder of Huffington Post, Arianna Huffington once said that she passed out due to sleep deprivation that is caused by overworking herself. She has since then given herself enough time of sleep which has results in a robust happy and healthy life for her. She also said she has become more productive too.

These successful people don’t only have enough sleep hours, they also maintain a consistent sleep schedule. If their scheduled time of going to bed is 9 p.m and wake up by 7 a.m every day, they stick to that schedule, this, they believe is the most healthy and productive way. Even when they travel outside of their home country, they tend to quickly adjust to the new time zone so that they won’t be dragged down by jet lag.

They Are Most Active During The Day:

These people understand that if you want to keep healthy and stay productive throughout the day, you must exercise and this is because they know that a good exercise routine does not cost you too much time, it will rather give you additional time. The most successful people in the world find time to exercise regardless of how busy they might be. A good example of these successful people is Richard Branson that says he goes for a run every morning and Barrack Obama that ensures he workout for 45 minutes a day.

They are also lovers of bright light when they workout. If they choose to workout indoors, they ensure that everywhere is brightened, and all windows widely open. They have an adequate understanding of how bright light can awaken one’s brain to stay alert. Bright light during a workout is also a subtle way of giving signals to the brain that a dull environment or darkroom is a sign of sleep time.

It becomes easier for you to sleep at night when you workout with light during the day.

They Don’t Take Alcohol And Caffeine Before Bed:

While alcohol may at the initial stage calm you or help you feel drowsy, it is also capable of increasing the amount of time you will wake up in the middle of the night, and this might lead to the suppression of Rapid Eye Movement (REM) during sleep which of course is essential to uniting memory and learning. Caffeine which is a stimulant before bedtime can significantly disrupt your sleep. Caffeine is designed to energize you and keep your body awake.

Their Bedroom Is Solely Designed For Sleep:

You might want to ask me here “are there bedrooms not designed for sleep?” the answer is “No” but most times, we tend to misuse the space and I will say, a larger percentage of us actually misuse it.

Your bedroom should not just be a room where you have your bed, it should also be a room where you will not be distracted. This means that there should not be computer, television, internet connectivity. It also means you should be away from the noise that might hinder your sleep at night. Your bedroom should not be for work, it is a place of rest, so, ensure you have that rest when you are in your bedroom. If you must work from or at home, take it outside of your bedroom. Highly successful people will rather work from the couch or even the kitchen table.

One other thing successful don’t also do in their bedroom is that they don’t take anything that causes stress for them to the bedroom. Sleep, sex, changing of clothes, maybe a few fictional books at night, that is all bedroom is meant to be for.
